EZCast Beam J2 Mini Projector Review

The EZCast Beam J2 Mini Projector is a projector not much bigger than the palm of your hand, allowing you all of the benefits of larger projectors, but with the ability to use it while on the go. That’s why we love small projectors after all. It uses the latest DLP technology with HDMI, USB, and Wi-Fi to support screen mirroring from your device of choice. It’s compatible with iOS, Android, Windows, and Mac. If you’re looking for a projector to take with you while traveling, this may be the one for you.

A Big Screen in The Palm of Your Hand

Whether you’re using it for business, gaming or watching movies, you can’t beat the ability to put this thing in your pocket and use it wherever you want. The device works with Wifi (802.11 a/b/g/n) or with a USB cable. You just need the EZCast app to display content from your laptop, phone, tablet, or PC. You can connect your TV and other devices to the projector via the HDMI port. Pros: Compact Form Factor Easy To Use Take It Anywhere Cons: Don’t Expect A Home Theater Experience Obviously, it isn’t going to compete with the larger and more expensive home theater systems, but it has some decent specs for a mini projector and does the job quite well. It’s designed to throw a larger image and be portable. Don’t expect crystal clarity. It has 150 lumens of brightness, 854×480 output resolution, a 20000 hour LED life, 300:1 contrast, 1080p input resolution, a 1.2:1 throw ratio, manual focus, and auto vertical keystone and manual 2D keystone. Rounding it all out is the 3000mAh battery and a built-in speaker. It can display an image of up to 120 inches, which is quite a screen size compared to your phone. This projector is great to have as a travel companion whether you use it for business or entertainment. It runs on EZCast media OS. If you want to do wireless screen mirroring on your iPhone, just choose the EZCast function, connect to the Wi-Fi network that the projector is on, and use Screen Mirroring on your iPhone. It’s pretty easy to do, with no complicated hoops to jump through. With the EZWire Mobile feature, you can charge your phone while playing a movie on your wall too. The battery life is decent enough for a projector this small thanks to the 3000 mAh internal battery. You can watch a full movie and charge your phone without any external power. So it is great for camping trips. Built-in 2D keystone lets you control over the shape of the projected image to fit your situation, and the 4 corner adjustment is good for when you’re projecting from an awkward angle.

A Very Handy Projector

Bottom Line It’s a great little portable projector. It won’t compete with the big boys as far as image quality, but as I said earlier, it isn’t meant to. This projector is great for a portable travel projector. If you travel a lot, take this with you and you’ll never be bored. You can use it for that business presentation and then when you get to the hotel you can watch movies on a huge screen while you relax. Or you can take it on camping trips or road trips for some extra fun. It’s easy to use, has a decent battery life and is in a great small size. There are smaller ones on the market, but this is a cool pocket projector.
